A Different Voice to My Own People
An invitation to take part in bringing the authentic Messiah to Israel
Every year, more than a hundred million dollars flows into Israel to bring Jewish people to Jesus. And every year, the fundamentalist movement those dollars support grows smaller. Today the Messianic movement numbers somewhere around seven thousand souls, and most of them are not even Jewish. By any honest measure, this is not a shortage of money, zeal, or sincerity. It is a failure of presentation.
The largest ministries evangelizing in Israel come out of two theological streams. One is Reformed and Baptist in its instincts: Jews for Jesus, Chosen People Ministries, One For Israel, Highway 53. The other is Holiness Pentecostal in flavor: Tree of Life, Maoz, and others like them. Their differences are real, but on the point that matters most they speak with one voice. Their theology is that Jews will burn forever in hellfire. They offer my people a god whose default posture is fury, an eternity of conscious torment for the unconvinced, and a cross explained as divine violence, god punishing the innocent so He can bear to look at the rest of us.
Israelis hear this and walk away. Not by the handful, but by the millions. That’s why 99.9% of Israelis consider the Messianic movement a cult. What the Jewish heart recoils from here is not Yeshua. It is a portrait of God that our own Scriptures do not paint, a deity of rage and ledgers who bears little resemblance to the One who is rachum v’chanun, merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in grace. My people are not rejecting the Messiah. They are rejecting a Greek and Roman distortion of Him, one that would have looked foreign, and frankly repulsive, to His own first followers, every one of them a Jew. The tragedy is that a hundred million dollars a year is spent shipping a Western packaging rather than the Gift.
I want to give my people something else.
Not a softer gospel. A truer one. The same Yeshua, spoken in Hebrew, framed in the categories not of Calvin and Augustine but of the Hebrew Scriptures, offered to Jewish minds in a Jewish thought-world. A Messiah they could relate to and a message they take seriously because it sounds like the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob rather than an imported foreign deity wearing His name. This is the work of my heart, and I intend to spend the rest of my life on it.
I invite you to join me and support my work here in Israel, bringing the real Messiah back to my Jewish people. Not a Jesus who now burns their grandparents forever in hell for dying in the Holocaust as Jews, but the Yeshua who conquered death on behalf of us all!
I am not asking for a hundred million dollars. I am asking for partners who already know my message and believe my people deserve to hear the real thing.
